Joe Troyer: Barry Gordon asks, “Joe, what do you do when you rank a site for pay per lead calls and the business that you were sending calls to winds up doing poor work, not following up with customers, et cetera, and people start leaving bad reviews for your site?”

Joe Troyer: Well, Barry, I hate to disappoint you but it’s going to be a very, very simple answer. Fucking fire them. Don’t do business with them. It’s that simple, right? I’d take it a step further, after you fire them, you call up the customers, you apologize. You do what a real business would do. You make it right. However you can, you make it right. Why? Because it’s your asset. You don’t want them spreading bad things about you.

Joe Troyer: Step one, fire that customer. Step two, go make it right. Just like you would do in any other business. Somebody leaves any business a bad review, what are you going to do? You’re going to take care of it. You’re going to fix what happened, you may have to fire somebody on your team. And then second, you’re going to go figure out how to make it right with the customer. Same exact process whether you’re running a paper call business or you’re running a local business yourself and you’re doing the work or your team is doing the work.
