Chris Brisson tells us different tricks to increase conversions and optimize your funnel.  The recent Infusionsoft Marketer of the Year spills it all with us.  His methods have been used by major companies such as Digital Marketer.  We’ve personally implemented some of his tactics and seen huge revenue increases.

Major Takeaways

2 Step Checkout

The first thing to look at is the order process. If you can literally tweak your order page, come up with the better conversion system, you can double your conversions. If you double conversions, that means you double revenue. You can do a 1 step check out or you can do a 2 step checkout. The 2 step allows the cart abandonment sequence. Somebody comes in, they go through step 1 and they put their name or email address or phone number. Once they submit
step 1 they go to step 2 which is the order form and they can submit the order.
If they bounce before step 2 then you use the information gathered in step 1 and put them into a cart abandonment campaign. Just by having that cart abandonment, just by collecting them information, you can actually follow up with these people. The cart abandonment sequence can include emails, phone calls, text messages, voice broadcasts and retargeting.
Note: 2 step checkout isn’t necessary for all products though. Cheaper products such as a free trial, $1, $7, even up to around $97 can use the 1 step checkout. It’s worth testing for the lower price points. What I do for killer campaigns is step 1, create your account. They feel that they’re getting value of actually doing that. Once they do that then they go to the order form.

1 Click Upsell Bumps

You have to have a time offer and you want a 1 click upsell with downsell funnel. Otherwise you are leaving money on the table. Typically someone will sign up for a $49 membership per month. On our order form, we have a little check box. The check box is, yes I would like to save 15% and get the 12 month plan and save $8.95 a month. When they sign up it will be for that annual with that 1 click. So rather getting someone to pay $49 a month, we get them for the entire year at the end of that 14 day trial. If retention is 3-4 months we would have made around $196 for that customer. With the addition of the 1 click upsell bump we’ll instead get $499 or 60% more revenue for that customer. This is great for cash flow. We have a lot of customers that have used just that one little bump and have increased revenue to 15%-20%. After that, you can do a 1 time offer for coaching, consulting.

Webinars

I think webinars are great for traffic and conversion. Webinars are not just a conversion component, they also work great for lead gen. There’s a misconception that webinars are just for product demos. Instead make people a special offer and provide value. Once they become a customer then do product “customer success” webinars to show them how to better use the product. On the front end for people that are just getting in do webinars. For Call Loop, we have simple Getting Started with Call Loop webinar. We generate sales and trials every single Tuesday and Thursday. People can choose a 12PM, a 3PM, they can choose 8PM webinar.

Optimized Webinar Funnel

Really there is 3 stages to a webinar which are Sign Up, Show Up and Pay Up. You have your sign up stage which is getting people to register. You have your show up stage which you got your people actually show up to generate sales. Then you have the pay up stage. So getting people to convert to become a client or customer.

1. Sign Up
In the sign up stage, there’s going to be a good hook and good reason why people actually going to register for this and then they’re excited about wanting to attend. Chris has had success with paid webinars, when offering immensive value. Plus you get the benefit of getting cash flow upfront.

2. Show Up
The attendance part is you get people to actually show up to the these webinars. You may have 500 people register and only 30 people show up. If you are relying on just GoToWebinar emails, you’re relying on just this one channel. What you want to do instead is stack your channels. You have email, you have voice broadcast and you have text messaging. Maybe you can do direct mail postcards. Maybe you can do Facebook Ads with customer audiences or retargeting. The more people you get that show up, the more eyeballs, people will see your presentation and essentially the more money you’re going to make.

3. Pay Up
For the last part it’s going to be the people that are going to show up and we want to put them in a different sequence. We want to followup with them differently versus a person that stayed until the end or didn’t show up. The easiest thing to do is record the webinar and send out a replay. Chris generates close to 50% of the revenue on a replay. At the end of the day not everyone is going to make it.
So record it and send out the replay to these people to get the information to them and buy your products. Start with the live one, you want to do couple of live ones to get your messaging down and tweak your slides. Once you’ve got it working then you automate it.
